Live Vocal Performance of I Can; using a vocal performance box to manipulate my voice in ways that are haunting and eerie. The intention is to hold the viewer in a state of tension, just as I am held in a state of tension as a strategically disadvantaged person. I am continuing with the thread of surveillance but using sound as the main medium. There are moments where I am singing a melody of 3 words, choking on my words,  and looping sounds that reflect a state of numbness. Throughout this performance I am in a process with myself. I am holding conversations with myself. I am allowing the observer to listen, and possibly reflect on their points of grief.

Masters of Completion: Punishment for Existence/Meister der Vollendung: Strafe für das Dasein; 03/26, Körnerpark, görlitzer park, admiralbrücke

Masters of Completion: Punishment for Existence is a durational performance piece that involves the writing of “Lines”, or “Standards” for an extend period of time, as a form of corporal punishment, and cognitive adjustment. Masters of Completion: Punishment for Existence symbolizes how strategically disadvantaged individuals are punished for their existence in society. The punishment isolates the “offender” from the community and makes an example of them by showing the consequences of living outside of the binary, and not conforming to imperialist and fascist standards. Such consequences may vary (not limited to one at a time): lack of health resources, lack of safety, food deserts, imprisonment, death etc.

Questions to consider:

  • What does it mean to be punished for existing in society?

  • What are some consequences you have faced as a result of existing in this society?

  • Have you face any consequences at all?

“Borrowed Feelings”

Through voice manipulation and spoken word read by Cat Jones, the performance of the Berimbau by Jota Ramos, and movement by Zenergy and Papi Pistola, we created a performance centered on the verbal, physical, and acoustic interpretation of what it means to exist as a Black and Brown trans masc person.

Queering Urban Space Festival; Utopiakiosk, 09/26 Stuggart, DE

Barrowed Feelings is an intimate reading performance by Cat Jones and Jota Kayodê Ramos that explores the complexity of pain, change, and joy. Through spoken word and sound, they navigate their sense of self, break generational curses of toxic masculine patterns, hold space for their femininity in ways that do not align with the world at large, and confront the struggle to exist in a world that wants brown and black trans masculinity unalive.

Kunst im Untergrund 07/25: Basics of Care

During the spatial activations (spatial activations) Basics of Care, a small group of black queer performers enlivens the Nollendorfplatz underground station with quiet, tender gestures of love, intimacy and care. In everyday clothes - from drag to business casual - they move improvised through the room, visible and yet embedded in the Berlin commuting rhythm. The performance creates a space for imagination, closeness and resistance - beyond spectacle, against extinction, for lived presence.
