“I Can”

I am using a vocal performance box to manipulate my voice in ways that are haunting and eerie. The intention is to hold the viewer in a state of tension, just as I am held in a state of tension as a strategically disadvantaged person. I am continuing with the thread of surveillance but using sound as the main medium. There are moments where I am singing a melody of 3 words, choking on my words,  and looping sounds that reflect a state of numbness. Throughout this performance I am in a process with myself. I am holding conversations with myself. I am allowing the observer to listen, and possible reflect on their points of grief.
